Pirramimma – McLaren Vale, SA
Winemaking at Pirramimma has been a family affair for well over 100 years.

Geoff Johnston has studied in France where his strong interest in the classic Petit Verdot first developed.

These days, his award winning Petit Verdot has prompted the prestigious European critics to ask… ‘Is there any better Petit Verdot in the world?’

Pirramimma’s philosophy is to produce wines from the family estate of the highest possible quality and showcase the unique regional characteristics.

2007 Stocks Hill Sauvignon Blanc Semillon - 87 points “Clean, fresh and well made.” James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009

2004 Old Bush Vine Grenache

planted in 1944.”
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009
2005 Pirramimma Reserve Shiraz

90 points “Good colour retention; strongly regional in character; with spices and dark chocolate wrapped around the core of
blackberry and plum fruit; good length and tannin support:”
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009

2004 Pirramimma ACJ - Blue Gold – 2008 Sydney International Wine Competition
95 points “Dense red purple; a strongly regional, rich, black-fruited Bordeaux blend and very good texture and structure; will
be long-lived”
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009

Digby Old Tawn Port NV
92 points “Obvious aged rancio characteristics; a refreshing, complex Tawny with some Portuguese echoes thanks to the low
baume; has length and class.”
James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2009
93 points “Here’s a wonderful, classic McLaren Vale tawny port with a mid-amber colour and a mellow bouquet of walnut,
raisin and toffee scents. It’s deep and multi-layered on the palate with richness and elegance, finishing not too sweet.
